What's up everyone?
I'm thinking of picking up either an old 2-channel blackface Rectifier or a Roadster head to go with my Mark III's, so I guess I'm coming to look for your help. 8)
I owned a Single Rectifier first series for 10 years and just got rid of it in December 09'. It was a nightmare to me, and I probably should have never kept it that long but I did everything I could to it (different tubes in both sections, pedals, etc) to try and smooth it out over the years and nothing worked. I just couldn't get that fizz out of it no matter what. I like that grindy rectifier sound, but if I could get it without the fizz and a smoother top end, I would probably enjoy owning a Rec again. So with that being said, I've been reading about both of these amps and they both seem to fit in the category.
What would you enjoy more and why? Anyone with a good experience in these amps I would appreciate the help. I love my III's and wouldn't part with them for nothing, but looking to tag team one up with another Mesa to tie into my rig. Thanks for the help in advance.
