I was wondering if there were mods to improve the tone of the Recto preamp ? I like it as is, but I was thinking if it was possible to eliminate the (useless) effects loop from the circuit, it may improve the tone ?

Maybe the direct recording circuitry as well ?

I use the preamp as a live preamp only, not for direct recording.

Conceptually, getting rid of either of those should be pretty easy--though I doubt that getting rid of the DI is going to make a significant difference, and will trash your resale value completely.

Mine's still under warranty so I wouldn't do it. They seem to be a little funny about repairs and/or sending out schematics on the Rec Pre; my local shop actually was instructed to send mine back to Mesa to fix what I thought was just a bad pot on the live outs.
