I havn't posted since Nov. i think. Had my LSS for about 6 months. I have to admit, up until the other day i was still stuggeling with channel two tone. Just couldn't find any thing that really inspired me. But,

I got a new guitar. I bought a new Carvin Holdsworth Fatboy(It's a set neck semi hollow body).

Web site link for more info on this model:

As far as i'm concerned this amp and that guitar were made for each other. The neck position clean is just big, fat, bubbelly tone.

Now, i wasn't too happy with the bridge pup so i tried a few things. What i ended up setteling on was a Carvin M22SD but to remove some of the high gain top end of this pup i added another .033up of capacitance across the hot and ground leads of the pup. OH, MY, GOD!!! It friggin' set my drive channel on fire. It's rippin' and tearin' and burnin'.

And what i find most impressive is the clean channel. The pup is just hot enough to cause the clean channel to OD just a touch. So, it's mostley clean with just a bit of bite and grind. This may be MY tone, if you know what i mean?

I am in love with this amp even more now than i was when i got it. My God, tone just abounds in this beast. BBBB

Welcome back, QuadB - glad to see you may have found "The One"...

I got me one of them too. It's waiting for me to bring the Series II Road King home tonight.
