i am having a problem with too much bass on my studio preamp, with the eq and without. has anyone else had a problem like this . i have it hooked up through a tube head into the effects loop, just using the power from the tube amp. the guitar is a les paul, but i tried with a jackson as well same problem. i did try some of the preset examples in the manual as well , i can only have the bass below 1 for it to sound close to what i want and i know it shouldnt be that way. it's very similar to a 50 cal plus i had and i never had trouble with it.can anyone help

ACtually, it IS supposed to be that way :) The Mark series (And studio/quad) are voiced pretty heavily in the bass and mid sections, that's why you see so many folks running the rotary bass low and scooping the mids on the graphic EQ.

So yeah, it's normal. Just keep your rotary bass very low and use the graphic EQ to fine tune it.
