I had one of these almost 4 yrs ago and loved it in front of a Peavey XXX combo. I bought one last week as someone was selling it cheap! In front of the MK IV, its doing wonders. The R2 channel is very usable for death metal type tones with enough gain, the LEAD is over the top smooth, compressed, perfect for solos. On the pedal I have all controls at 1 o'clock except gain which is almost down to zero.

What's the opinion on this pedal? Does it color the tone much? Anyone else like the pedal? Or dont like? It seems pretty quiet too, but I havent had a chance to crank the amp yet. :)

If you like the pedal what does other opinions matter. It's a great pedal and if you like it then it's for you. I too like the Monkey even though I no longer use it and I would use it anytime without a second thought.

 No kidding! The BM is a wonderfully under-rated pedal. I also think that the Danelectro FAB distortion pedal is outstanding as well for minimal dinero.

I agree, the Bad Monkey is a very cool pedal. Doesnt color the tone much. You can pick them up for about 35 bucks used which is a crazy good price for a nice tubescreamer/ OD pedal!
