For less than that try the Roland Cube 60 like me you would be really impress, awesome clean, rythym and lead sound and it loud as hell.
Anyway try one. I can easy say that I got a tone similar to the lead tone that Petrucci got on Czar of Steel (Sherinian cd).
Try one man.

There are a bunch of Mesa's you can get for that much. Rectoverb, F-Series, Stage I Stiletto etc as long as you are willing to buy it used.

Us fellow members will be on the look out. On another board, a member had stolen gear. He mentioned his location and pawnshops were on the look out. And when a "suspicious" gear was attempted to be pawned off, the pawnshop called the police and this person was arrested for trying to pawn off stolen goods. I feel for you, bummer!

i heard that the v3 sucks. how is it in your opinion? Can you describe the gain and clean for me? I don't live near a carvin shop so i haven't had the luxery of playing one. I've heard clips online but those don't always tell the truth ya know? anyway also could you compare its tones to some bands that you know? thanks a lot!
