Thanks for posting that. I was really surprised to hear how good the Rectoverb 25 sounded compared to the Dual Recto and the Tremoverb. I have a new Rectoverb 25 on order with a matching 2x12 cab, so this helps me to know that I bought something that will give me the tone I am looking for.

That Cab Clone seems like a good piece of gear, I may have to get one.

It seems like the best sounding was either the Dual Rec or Road King. Seems like the RK was slightly louder then the rest. To me I'd go with Dual Rec it seems to have that low punchyness.

I thought the Rectoverb sounded tiny and boxed in. Am I crazy?

To me they all sound pretty damn close. Yes, you can hear the headroom on the bigger versions. If this is what they sound like in comparison using the same cab, Id say go with what suits your needs and budget. They all sounded great. As John Petrucci would say, "...different variations of awesomeness..."

I decided that the individual clips were too removed from each other in time to help build a decent contrast, so I put together a new version that is more grueling to go through, but should present some of the contrasts more clearly. This was useful for me and I hope it's useful to other people.

First, I compared the rectoverb, the reborn recto, and the road king to the tremoverb. To do this, I play one amp, then a long version of the tremoverb so you can hear the contrast and tune your ear to the tremoverb, and then back to the other amp.

At the end, I do the same thing again, this time just comparing the rectoverb to the road king. I thought that they sound similar enough that I wanted to be able to really study the differences:

Keep in mind you are listening to different flavors of the same amp so of course their is going to be a common core sound. Try listening to them with decent quality headphones or decent speakers. You will hear differences I'm not talking night and day difference but there are differences between them.

That was a bit more definitive. I think the RV 25 is darker and more scooped than the Tremo which is by far most bright of all of them. I wonder if you can get more mids and top end from the RV 25. I think the Dual Recto and RK II are very close, and probably sound the cleanest.

Thx for doing this! Cab clone doesn't sound too bad at all. Again, for the price it serves a good purpose.
