Picked up a single rectifier second hand ( UK ).

Now, the amp sounds GREAT. no issue there. my issue is that the front and back panels are some differences compared to the ones on the mesa site:

Expected: 3 modes on 2nd channel ( raw, vintage, modern)
Expected: Bias Switch

UnExpected: foot switch on the front next to the input ( ala series 1 )
UnExpected: no DIN plug on the back. instead i just have the 2 sockets for solo + channel footswitch

Serial Number is S50-1485, and states series 2 on the back.

I'm just wondering if it's a UK thing, or an early series 2 ? or something different altogether

It seems to be a hybrid of the 2, maybe first run ?

I will take some photo's for you tomorrow.

But yes, i'd expect the series 2 not to have front AND back footswitches, yet a series 1 wouldn't have the 3 tone settings on the front.

I dunno, maybe the ones for UK market are slightly different ?

i've uploaded some photos here, sorry about the quality will try to take better ones later.

Dude you got one Hell of a strange Single Recto. That must be one of the first Series 2 ever made. Transitional model when they still had leftover parts from the series 1 amps. Wild.

Yes that is a "one of a kind" for sure. Mesa is famous for using up materials from previous versions. You can always call or email Mesa to try to get specific info on your amp.

Looks like you have a "Custom Shop Special" LOL

Hehe, I shall.

Think I have the best of both worlds. Get the extra channel mode, without the hassle of a DIN footswtch.

Serial Number is S50-1845

Got a response from Mesa on this:

There was an "in between" stage for the SOLO 50... technically, they
were SERIES 2, but it was before we switched to the 5 pin din cable.

Unfortunately, we do not have accurate serial # records, but I can tell
you that started production 11/98 & in 4/01, we switched to the series
2. Yours is probably a 2001 or 2002.
