Anyone used a Marshall 1936 2x12 cabinet with a DR?

...if so - what did you think?

I can get a great deal on one but I don't know if it's right for a Mesa to run with a Marshall

If it was me I would stay away from the 1936 cab. MDF (particle board) construction, and the G12-75 speakers are too mid scooped for a Rectifier IMO. If the price is right for you I understand, you can try it and if you don't like it maybe you can sell it and recoup the $$.

I would look for a V30 Loaded Recto 2X12, but that's my taste.

+1 to everything Dom said. I found out first hand that the 1936 cabs sound like **** with Rectos. Now I have a Mesa Horiz 2x12 and couldn't be happier. :)

Thanks for the feedback!

We have a 2x12 horizontal Recto cabinet that we like - use it with a DR

I was looking for a cabinet to run with my Rectoverb. The Mesa 2x12 cab sounds great with it so I guess I'll go that route.

I was suspicious about the 1936 cab - frankly I've never been too impressed with Marshall but the price was good.
