I play a little bit but i have a friends who over the past 28 months has averaged 58.39 hours a week on that game. insane how addicting it is to some people.

I've been playing since January. Some weeks I spend more time than others but never that many hours. I think I play on average an hour a day. I can understand how it can get addicting but I also understand how people can give up because once you start getting to the higher levels it takes a while to level up and after you hit 80 you only have two options. Fight other level 80 people for a challenge, or create another player of a different class and race and start from the beginning.

I do enjoy it a lot. I'm a nerd and know it. I love fantasy fiction like this kind of stuff.

To me guitar is more addicting! I can see myself quitting WoW in a year but guitar has been going on since 96 for me and I can't stop!

I don't even dare look into it. I get addicted on these crazy little games on the internet once in a while, so I don't want to find out what WOW is all about, lol. I'll stick to GAS.

The addiction to these games are a very real issue for many people - myself included, in the past.

Fun in small doses, but a life-sucking virtual treadmill that sucks huge amounts of time with higher login times..

Stick to the guitar - work on your real skills as opposed to leveling a virtual tradeskill.

This is a good point. Small doses. It's nice to get away and play for a little and enjoy the challenges of the games and the story lines but in the end all of us here are guitar lovers. For some it's just a hobby and for others it's turned into more than a hobby but it's a real life skill.

Forgive me for not having the exact quote but I was read Howard Roberts say that he thought one good musician could do more to impact society than 20 good city mayors.

I may be the only Network Technician/Engineer that does not get into games like WoW. I would much rather spend my precious time playing guitar!!

Well thankfully im 28 with a 2 year old, wife, mortgage, and MBA student at a brutally elite private college. Guitar eats up alot of my spare free time but even if it didnt I still cant play this stupid game that much lol

At almost 60 hours a week it's a problem definitely. I don't do anything that takes up 60 hours of my time a week. With that many hours of free time to just play video games you do have to question the persons priorities in life.

Well its funny because he quit but i just found out he bought another account and is "secretly" leveling another character lol. He has no priorities, its amazing, he dropped out of school, hardly works and I promise that 2 years ago this was a promising and very intelligent driven man. i dont get it. I would play guitar 60 hours a week though

That is interesting about the change. My one friend has sent me a lot of stuff about depression being very high among people who play WoW and different articles saying how it's changed people so that they don't take care of their priorities. Personally I haven't experienced this.

I think it is a fun game and in little doses is a fine escape and I can imagine writing a concept power metal album based on my Night Elf Druid and fighting the Horde. lol For the Alliance!

In moderation it can be a really fun game but people actually complain and worry about this game so much it consumes their real lives. Crazy, a concept power album would be awesome based on PVP lol

I have no idea what he's talking about but that's hillarious! I love it.

There is almost a different language for people who play WoW.

If anyone hasn't seen it there is a great Southpark episode entitled "Make Love Not Warcraft". It's hilarious!

I kind of feel like a p*ssy now though because I have all Alliance characters and the guy from Cannibal Corpse is like "F*** the Alliance" lol
