Ok so i'm just wondering what the Mesa Boogie Triaxis (With, and without Phat Mod), 20/20 Poweramp, and 2:90 Poweramp, normally go for on US eBay and also on UK eBay.

If they're on sale on UK eBay, to the american versions sell for less because of the voltage?

Would many stores in America carry Used Mesa Rack parts?

Thanks

I've bought a LOT of Boogie gear from eBay both here in the UK and from the States - in fact all my Boogie gear has come from eBay. General observations are that there is a lot more gear in the States than in the UK and the prices seem to reflect that. It was cheaper for me to buy in the States and incur the transatlantic shipping costs, the import duty and the VAT than to buy in the UK. That was for my Triaxis, 20/20, and MKs. On occasions bargains do appear here, but very rarely and are still more expensive than the States. 18 months ago my Triaxis cost me $911 + $200 shipping (can’t remember how much the import duty & VAT was) but there was no way I could have bought it in the UK for that. 20/20s have appeared here and normally go for around £500 mark, in the States I’ve seen them for anything up to $600 - a third less. 20/20s are good amps to ship over here as the voltage conversion is quite straight forward.
My advice - if you're in the States DON'T consider buying from the UK, however if you are in the UK serious consider buying from the States, importing is not that difficult. Most of the US eBay auctions say they will only ship within the States or Canada, but I find that an email to the seller often works.

oops...just seen you are based in Ireland. If its Southern Ireland, it may be worth checking with your Customs people for import duty and VAT rates etc.

The thing is that i'm headin' to the States next Tuesday. And i thought that i'd maybe be able to pick up Two Used Triaxis'.. Bring them home with me. Then if i liked the Triaxis, sace up for a Cab, and 20/20 and keep one of the Triaxis', and then sell the other Triaxis.. (It would hopefully sell for the price that both of them cost, or very close to it, thats why i want to know how much they go for in the UK). If you get what i'm sayin? In theory it may work.. But would it work in Reality?

Also what are prices like for the 2:90, in the UK and US?

Would i be able to carry a 2:90, 2:20, and Two Triaxis' onto a plane? In a road case?

I'm from Northern Ireland btw.

Thanks

In theory it should work. eBay is a funny place, sometimes there's a great deal of interest in an item and other items there’s not. You have to pick your time and be prepared to re-list if necessary. Also what I've noticed recently on the UK site are auctions stating 'local pick-up only', I know Boogie gear is heavy but this seems to either kill the auction or reduce what people are prepared to bid. I recently picked-up a couple of open backed boogie cabs with 200W EVs for just over £200 - I'm sure I got them cheap because of the 'local pick-up'. So be prepared to ship to mainland UK.
Not sure about the 2-90 – I’ve never been interested in one so have never really followed the prices. The voltage conversion on the 20/20 is very straight forward, Boogie UK told me that it was the only rack amp they do with the dual voltage arrangement.
Be prepared to pay up to 9% import duty plus 17.5% VAT when importing into the UK. There may be a broker’s fee to pay as well. It’s all based on the value of the goods you bring back and value shown on your receipts – if you get my drift!!
Not sure of the weights of the units but I don’t think you will be able to carry them on as hand luggage –check this forum or Mesa’s site for actual weights.
Good luck
Ian
