My local dealer (pusher) just sent me a flyer for a
"Mesa Boogie Clinic"

anyone ever been to one of these

it is described to

"discuss a wide range of topics
from circuit design to maintenance and
diagnosis of tube amplifiers"

sounds cool, I was at a Fender Custom Shop one
and it was awesome

either way, i was wondering what to expect
or if you have any questions you want me
to ask....feel free to post here

or if you are in Southern California
the clinic is at Rockit Music in Brea
save me seat

and no, I'm not going to ask which sounds better
a 5:25 or 5:50 :)

cheers

Just about two years ago I attended a Mesa Boogie John Petrucci clinic in Detroit. I thought it was cool Especially if you're into Dream Theater or John's playing. The amp discussion that day centered around the Road King. He spent most of his time playing in the "vintage" setting and played tunes from his solo CD, "Suspended Animation."

I would love to go to one . I know Andy Timmons does them sometimes

I went to one with Andy Timmons, and not sure I would have
called it a Mesa clinic. More of an Andy Timmons clinic
even though he did play through 2 diff models

I was hoping they would go over the features more, and the
most impressive thing I saw was when I got there early
and he was playing clean thru a lonestar

once the clinic started, he had a very sophisticated effects
rack, with gobs of echo, wasn't sure where the tone was coming from
the effects or the amp, didn't get a feel for either amp

this one sounds more interesting
not sure what to ask
I'm actually an electrical engineer
wonder how much circuit design they'll divulge :)

I use to work at GC here in Raleigh a few years ago and they had a Mesa/Boogie clinic that was open to the public. It was very cool as I met with the SouthEast rep and he gave me a ton of Mesa swag :D as I was the leading sales associate for the Mesa gear.
Not trying to toot my own horn but if people came in asking about Boogies the other guys would point them my way. After a while the other sales guys started asking me for info so they would know what they were talking about and in turn sell more. I would share most of my knowledge (even though I found this by studying and first-hand experience) but customers would always still come to me.
The clinic touched on the new products and overall features and vibe as there are just too many amps to talk about individually.

The consensus was that there is a Mesa/Boogie amp style to cover every players style out there. No other amplifier manufacturer can really cover the bases like Mesa and I think that's killer !
