I took my mark V chassis out of the headshell to replace some tubes and now I can't get the damn chassis screws to catch. Any magic tips for getting them back in? I can get them in the first hole, but they don't catch on the bottom.
Turn the amp upside down so the end you're working on is hanging over the edge of the work area. You'll be tightening screws from beneath.
Or prop the chassis up from the bottom to hold it against the cabinet.
Don't screw in the first screw all the way. Tighten it half way, and the work the other screws in. Only tighten the screws all the way after all of the screws are partly screwed in.
