Hey guys, I've got yet another pre-buyer's question about a cabinet and a single Recto.
If anyone recalls, my previous dilemma was regarding my 16 ohm cab and the lack of an 16-ohm out on the Single Recto. I was told that it'd be totally fine to go ahead and do the safe mismatch of 16 ohm cab --> 8 ohm out, but I had an idea.
My cabinet has a stereo/mono switch, where in mono, the jacks are paralleled at 16 ohms and, in stereo, it's 8 ohms per side. Could I potentially flip it to stereo mode and run the two 8 ohm sides of the cabinet into the 4 ohm outs (treating them as two seperate cabinets), giving me a correct 4 ohm match?
This diagram from the Single Recto manual on Mesa's site seems to back me up:
You just have to imagine that the two sides of the 4x12 in stereo are two seperate 8 ohm cabs.
I just wanna be sure though, will this idea work?
