The Ampteaker Tight Metal Pro can apparently be used out front or as a preamp straight to a power amp. If used in conjunction with a Dual Rectifier could you somehow bypass the DR's preamp and run the Tight Metal Pro straight to the power section of the DR? Even if it can be physically done (using loop?) maybe the signal output from the TMP would not be of correct spec for the power section to make use of it.

Thanks for the info. So it doesn't matter that the "send" jack of the loop will have nothing connected to it?
So I should select the green channel (3 ch DR) and set "Master" and "Gain" to zero?

Tight Metal Pro output to the return jack (and set the return knob to open -- in case of non multi watt dual), activated the loop via fs or the back panel switch. You can try to assign the channel in modern mode (Ch. 2 or 3), in this setting  the negative feedback is bypassed and the sound can be unleashed to the max   .

You don't want anything plugged into the FX send on the amp, if you are just going to use the pedal's preamp. But the TM Pro has the side loop, and if you wanted to use the Mesa preamp still, like another channel, you plug your guitar into the pedal, run a cable from the side loop send to the front of your amp, then run a cable from the amp FX send to the side loop return on the pedal. Then when the side loop in engaged, you would be using the amp's preamp section, and bypassing the pedal. The TM Pro is rediculous with it's routing capablities.

Thanks again, never would have thought of that. Looking forward to delivery of this beast.

I have this for my setup with my Triple Rec. For me it's a best case scenario since, as mentioned above, when the TMP is bypassed you can use all the tones of your Rec.

Just to give you a better idea of the signal path: LEGEND: TMP (Tight Metal Pro) TMPST (Tight Metal Pro Side Track)

Guitar>TMP IN, TMPST SND>Amp IN, Amp FX Loop SND>TMPST RTN, TMP OUT>Amp FX Loop RTN.

You can also put any kind of clean effects you want in line with the amp's preamp, like an overdrive in front or a delay in the amp's loop before it comes back to the SideTrak Return. And of course whatever delay or things you patch into the back of the TMP will come on with it.

Have fun

Essentially, you can set up your rig how ever you choose (pedals in front or in the loop) without the TMP, then just add in the TMP as mentioned above, and retain your entire rig as it was, switching between that and the TMP with the side track.

Say your rig is as follows...

Guitar>TS808>Gate>AMP IN...FX Send>Delay>Reverb>EQ>FX Return

You would simply run your gutar into the TMP guitar input, run a cable from the Sidtrack send to the TS808, run the cable from the EQ in the loop to the Sidtrack return, and run a cable from the TMP output to the FX return. This way, when you engage the Sidtrack, you have the same exact rig as before, with the guitar going into the TS808 and the EQ going the the FX return on the amp.

This gives you two distinct preamps. You can also run what ever you want in the Sidetrack, like a Digital Modeler, or another preamp, and do the same thing.

It's an amazing device, and I wish James would make it into a rack mounted preamp with the same features.

Does the side loop on the Tight Metal work like side chaining when recording? I have not even looked into this pedal deeply since hearing about it several years ago.
If so, that is a killer feature to be able to do into a live rig.
