One of my friends let me try out this little amp yesterday and I was blown away. It was in a perfectly built small oak headshell that was a work of art all by itself. Specs: 4 EL84 power tubes wired in open end class A, very simple controls that work. Vol, Treb, Mid, Bass, Standby, Power. I tried it through a 2x12 cab with a Celestion Blue and a G12-30H

This amp is what the Vox Ac30 aspired to be. It was so juicy, touch sensitive, harmonically rich. It responded to your guitar controls so well. It sounded awesome with Suhr pickups, not so good with Lollars (usually they are great, but this amp didn't like them). The crunch sound was like U2's song "Vertigo" It sings wonderfull for leads as well. The cleans were delicious too. Anyway, I had fun. If I had the extra dough, I wouldn't hesitate to add this amp to my Mesa posse...... 8)

The circuits in George Alessandro's high end amps are deceptively simple, elegantly wired, and use the very highest quality parts available. Simple circuits and great parts = great results. He reportedly uses Magnaquest transformers, a very top end product like Mercury Magnetic's Axion series.

He only lives about 20 minutes from my parents house and I met him when I bought one of his bias probes years ago. Too bad I was a broke youngin or I would have loved to audition his amps. Maybe when I go home to visit I will stop by and pay a visit for a test of some boutique amps.
