Advantage or disadvantage fan off

is there any advantage/disadvantage having the fan off at all times? my thinking is that in order for the tubes to work at its best they have to reach hot temperatures... any comment would be appriciate it.

Nope tubes work best once they reach proper operating temperature ,... which they will after 2 or 3 min on standby. Adding more heat past that point just means youre going to destroy your tubes much faster. The fan is on there for a reason.

The reason you can turn the fan off is so you can record with a mic on the speaker and not pick up the fan noise.

If they add a fan then it is probably for good reason. You can barely hear it on the Mark V. The fan on my Stiletto Ace combo was really loud and annoying though!

no doubt-I freaked because I thought I had a bad fan...she is quiet!
