Hello, 1st time poster here. Bought a Mark IV in Hollywood almost 20 years ago. Still my favorite amp of all time, and my go-to amp.

Finally just recently (a year ago) I began tinkering with boutique pedals and it has opened a new world for me. I have always loved the LEAD channel of this amp and the "Rhythm 2" also. Well, and of course the clean.

The two pedals I bought recently that I LOVE, and in this order: Guitar>>Swart Atomic Boost (Germanium Treble Boost)>>Xotic RC Booster>>modulation pedals>>Mark IV input.

I generally do not like the Effects Loop, but am open to using it where it works (just hasn't yet, for me).

I am really digging how boosts can enhance overall tone, and improve and thicken the Mark IV's already-awesome tube overdrive.

So, I am here looking for some suggestions. For sure, I plan to add at least one FUZZ PEDAL. This is a huge topic. After a lot of research the front runners are: VFE Duo Fuzz, MI Audio Neo Fuzz, Throbak Fuzz Haze, Throbak Stonebender. Something 'sort of' vintage and you can see I'm a bit conflicted/torn between germanium and silicon--which is why the VFE is appealing, and you can switch them.

I am also looking at compression, that I can use with clean and (hopefully) dirty, but at least clean. Rothwell Love Squeeze (if somebody can get it in stock), Diamond are front runners.

Also, if anybody thinks I can benefit from an additional overdrive pedal I would consider that too. I would not mind dedicating my RC Booster to the just the clean stuff--I tend to dial it differently when using it with the clean as opposed to the with dirt. Yes, there are a lot of mini-topics in here, but I am hoping some of you will fire away.

I play a tele, a p90 strat, and an SG.

I play a Mark V and don't use pedals so I don't know what to tell ya.

Looks like you're on your own on this one.
