For years I hated Marshalls. I never thought they ever did get the master volume thing down. I always thought they sounded overly piercing, and cliched.
The limited edition SL5 from 2013 is a great amp for Boogie folks. It does a nice American high gain sound, while retaining a distinctly bright clean channel. Slash and Marshall did a great job on this, and I don't really like Slash.
The lower gain sounds remind me of early 70's Allman Brothers. The clean channel is nice and bright, spanky kind of 1960s vibe to it.
