If you look around, you can find the 420s for $80.00 each in the web. Here's the 415s for $120.00 each. You can even buy a matched quad set! They're out there if you look. Mesa carries a lot of odd stuff that others try to sell on eBay for double what Mesa charges, like amp logos, knobs, etc., check them out for the jewels.

Ok, I may be new to Mesa's but why are the tubes so expensive? I can get a matched quad of NOS Sylvanias for a lot less than $500. Seems a bit high. I'm curious about this.

They're all over the board in price. I'm specifically looking for the Mesa rebranded STR 420's myself, which typically aren't that high when you find them.

$50.00 a pair here, 3rd page of google searching under "Mesa str 420 tubes for sale" there could be better deals if you look but this guy has 16 pairs for sale.
