Grab 6 of the same models in a shop and plug them in a clean amp and play some chords. None of them will sound the same.
I EQ my amp differently for EVERY guitar I plug in. Even two supposedly the same models can have quite different tonal characteristics. Wood is natural product and we cannot entirely control the outcome. If you like Gibsons like I do, you have to in addition deal with quality control that is all over the place. Maybe you have more luck with other manufacturers, but still, minor differences in how the guitar is set up (string action, bend, age of the strings) all add up.
