Understood that the Subway Blues is a signal channel
amp - but, since they have similiar power ratings and
tube config. with 10" in the combo does there overall
performance and tone compare at all or is the 5:25 an
entirely different animal?

Thanks,

TK

Hmm. Clean channel on the 5:25 can be made to sound somewhat similar by diming the master and controlling volume and overdrive from the channel gain control (effectively turning it into a non-master volume amp). But other than that, they're a lot different because of the 2nd channel and additional modes on the 5:25, which takes you places the Subway Blues can't really go without pedals. Subway Blues is d@mn nice amp though IMO; vintage simplicity and tone, but with Mesa build quality.
