OK so I had a conversation a while ago with Mike B. from Boogie and he mentioned that the 295 in not like most guitar poweramps and I completely forget why. :(

Does anyone have the skinny on this? I have one and I don't want to be the tard that has to call him back and re-explain what he was kind enough to tell me the first time

He probably wanted to speak about "simulclass", aka class A + class AB poweramp.

No it had to do with the poweramp response.

He mentioned something about it being more "HI-FI" and not really meant for poweramp distortion. I just want to know why and then figure out how I can have it modded to be more like a traditional poweramp.

I don't know about the "hifi" aspect, but you would be hard pressed to ever be operating a 295 at a volume high enough to get powertube distortion. They are bloody loud!
