I dig, definitely seems to have more bite and presence.
Disappointed when they went to Modern that it ranover the mics, but o well.

We tried one of the 2010 Rectos today. REALLY impressed with the clean and the tone at low volumes especially. Great sounding piece and *I* think it does sound closer to the 2 channel ones, save for the sparkly, bouncy, and much improved cleans. WAY better amp now!

Yeah I know the solo 50 at room level definately had more bite than the dual, with big volume on stage a different story, but it's little wonder the changes, I am not overly impressed, though I am sure it would be awesome for the fact you can pull it back to 50 watts for home use.

As for the cleans I can't see the big deal, but then again they are using a very generic Les Paul for the demo.

Nice work, but I won't be buying one.

I agree, not enough to warant selling off the older one for this new model. At home I just pull tubes, not as simple as a flick of a switch but not that hard either.

Definitely. I dunno if i'd say "Improved" cleans...just different. Maybe some more sparkle and presence though.

The modern and vintage settings don't sound as dull anymore though, i'd call that a pretty big improvement. Can't wait to try one out!

Sounds like they were purposely trying to make the old one sound bad.

+1

I agree, lets see a side by side comparison, with exactly the same settings, and without the Mesa sales guy involved!
(love the sly little tweaks he gives it a couple of times, of course whilst the 2010 model is being played)

I believe there would be little difference in a real world scenario (giving it heaps in a jam session, not pissing around at bedroom levels) and all I see is just a whole bunch of other **** to go wrong with it after years of gigging and whatever, with all these extra switches and stuff they have added...
