Finally got to try my 20/20 based rig in rehearsal tonight and it seems to have a ton of bass. Anyone else notice this?

Maybe I wasn't clear.

My 20/20 has way to much bass, very boomy on the A an E strings. Anyone else notice this or is there possibly something wrong with my 20/20.

I'm using a Randall RM4 and have the bass on all the modules turned way down, much further than when I used the 50 watt head with 6V6's.

It's either something wrong with the Mesa or it's caused by the Rocktron Rack Interface.

or maybe the cabinet, what cabinet are you using???
the easiest way to isolate the trouble is testing another hardware on your setup or just testing your 20/20 in a friend´s setup.
The character of the el84 is so british, so an excess of low end bass is very funny

Cab is a Marshall 4x10. I'm going to bypass the 20/20 and go straight into the power amp of my old head and see if it's the 20/20 or something else.

that is a good idea, try to isolate the trouble on different stages, it could be for example that the 10" speakers are not able to reproduce with fidelity the extra low end bass, it could be a bad tube, a bad cap, even it could be your guitar, the strings or even you are hearing the bass radiate by surrounded furniture, isolating the trouble is the first step to get the problem

I find that I like to dial out at least 5 dB with an eq from about 85 Hz and below. This cleans/tightens up the bass, leaving more room for bass guitar. So, yes, I could say I find the 20/20 has too much bass. But it really does depend on cabinets, and where they're placed, as well as a few other factors.

I use two Mesa widebody 1X12 cabinets (open back) with my setup.
