2:50 (pt2)

Hi gyus,i just bought a 2:50 second hand.

While outside looks like new the output power is low.

I tested with my friend's 20/20 Dynawatt and with both volumes at approx. to 3 the 20/20 is 50% louder.

Is a tube problem?

Definitely sounds like tubes need replacing. I would replace all of them, including the 12AX7's. Make sure all your cables are good as well. A 2-Fifty really cranks over a 20/20 normally.

If it's only this i don't really mind. I'm afraid for more serious problem. .

The amp sounds great but i have to raise the volume to the half.

Any other opinion will be appreciated

The thing about tube amps is usually when anything goes funky it is tube related, even if you just replaced them. It's a fact of life that tubes are unreliable and fail often....but sound and feel like God.

I've recently had an issue with my Rectifier Preamp where it was working fine for a while and then I lost about 3/4 of it's volume. Turns out the rear end of the switching system died.
So this could be a possibility but I don't think the 5050 had any switching modes??
