Hi guys
I have the 2:50 and i never used the presence
Today i've notice that while i rolled up the button, almost nothing happened till the 3 o clock, and then i continue to rolled up all the way up to 6 o clock and then there was a huge presence difference...is this the natural way or there is a problem?
(I think that this issue was discussed in an older post but i could'nt find it, sorry)
Can you help?
Thanks

Hello Fusguitar.

I don't think no one cares but I suppose you need to have a 50/50 to help.

1. Does it do this on both channels??

Try the left side first, then the right side.

if it's the same, then that may be normal, it one side does it and the other side doesn't. It maybe the pot.

I have a Auzzie Made 50/50, I would say the presence doesn't do that much. just adds a little brightness.

Lets us know, thanks,

Gezza.

The same thing with my 2:50... In fact, all 2:50 power amps have this problem... nothing untill 3 o clock and then wuuush, so you must be really precise when dialing presence knobs

I don't know if this will help you, but we both own Mesa products :D. My RKII presence knob does the same thing, but it only happens on channel 4. From 7 to 2 o'clock, nothing. Then around 3 BAM! it works. After 3 o'clock it's very sensitive to changes, I think this is due to the taper in the pot. Now between other Recto owners this seems normal.

Thanks for your responce guys
I sent email to Mesa and the answer was:
"That is just the normal response from the presence circuit"
So i assume that there is no problem and i have to say that i didn't know how presence works in power amps
Anyway thanks
