Have you done the trick of removing tubes to get 50 watts or half power ? I have. At first I thought I liked it better. After doing some A/B .... I found I liked the sound of all four tubes better at all volumes.

I am sure it would be pretty simple to put in a switch ..... :D

a little less volume for late night at my house. I wanted to be able to just switch it on, or off, instead of putting tubes in and out. I've been really liking the spongy mode, for the house, add the half power and I'm set.

I did not think it made much of a volume change myself. But I see what you are heading at.

I have a Tremoverb and really like the amp with a THD Hot Plate. I recommend checking one out with your rig. YMMV

thanks I do have a marshall power break but, I never like attenuators. The THD is a very nice unit, my PB100 is big and bulky. It's Great amp IMHO.

Half power won't decrease the volume by much at all. It'll still be hair-splittingly loud.

Yes, the difference from 100w to 50w is only 3db.

I also pulled the power tubes for a while to solve the same issue of volume. It really doesn't make much difference at all. TOV's are just plain loud. Greatest amp Mesa ever made and I have played almost all of them.

One day the TOV will be up there in status with the Mark IIC+. Mark my words.

+1000% I couldn't agree more. I too have had many mesa's and this TOV is fantastic, it is the best Mesa, (for my needs) that mesa makes. It's hard for me not to start typing away how great it is. This is the perfect amp for me. The other day I was thinking, the same as you, this amp will just get more in demand, as time goes on, it's that good IMHO.

Totally agree. In my opinion it's in the top twenty greatest amps ever made by any company. I know very well there's no one single amp that can be the greatest because there are so many different tastes and uses, but the Tremoverb should be up there on the short list of all-time classics. And I don't just say that because I have one, I've owned (and used as my main amps sometimes) many others that don't make it.
