My 1986 4x12 with metal grill has no name on handles. I was quite disappointed when it arrived but does it ever still kick major butt!

    Mark III EQ problems

hmmm...just to be the Devil's Advocate...is there a 1/4" jack plugged into the EQ jack on the back of the amp? If there is, unplug it and the EQ on the front should be OK.

Mark III - Sparks and Smoke

I had the same problem too. Found out I was replacing the fuse with the wrong type. I needed to use a "Slo-Blow" fuse and because I wasn't, the amp would blow the fuses as soon as I turned it on...Hope it all works out for you.

My Mark III just blew a resistor!

Same thing happened to my 1986 Black Stripe. When I replaced the power tubes after a few years of use, my Mark III smoked the new tubes in about 10 minutes. Called Boogie...they asked what was my serial number..."OH-you have one of the older Boogies...the bias resistor isn't compatible with the...

Use your ears...if it sounds odd or bad, then something is messed up...recheck your connections and always start with the volume down...

    JJ's in Mark III

I recently put JJ's power and preamp tubes in my 1988 Mark III blue stripe and they rocked! I then tried Ruby's in the middle and it actually sounded bit better but sucked in the outer sockets. Also tried Groove Tubes, EH's, Sovtek and Winged "C"'s but the JJ's were consistent through out. I...

I want to buy a Mesa Mark III Simulclass with EQ and Reverb in a Small Head. I prefer the No Stripe, Black stripe or Red Stripe Versions. I will seriously consider other options as well so do not let my specific description deter you from contacting me. I once owned a Mark III with serial number...

    Best Amp I Ever........

Best amp I ever played is my 1985 No Stripe Mark III Simul-Class with EQ and Reverb. All packaged in a small head going into a Mesa 4x12 and it loved to eat any amp within 100 feet. I let it go during a VERY STUPID Time in my life and have regretted ever since...however; Today I play a Flextone...
