The new reborn is killer, and I really enjoy it. I enjoy as much as my coveted TOV, which still gets a lot of love. The new dual just sounds a little better in some regards with the cleaner / better effects loop.
Another animal is the roadster. Which again sounds different to my ears.
I...
WOW
Has anyone spent time on this channel. I'm blown away at the flexibility of the channel and overall clarity and mean-ness.
I'm very pleased with this channel, it was a pleasant surprise!!!!
I'm struggling with the same right now. I'm a dual recto guy and now can freely admit it. No matter what amp I play I always try to get dual rec tones so I gave in.
Currently own a 94 TOV and 06 roadster. Both are great both are different enough to justify having.
Cut to the dual red reborn...
I would do it and run it at 90 watts. For the amp to be at fill tilt would never happen at the volumes you would need if playing out it if its mic'd. For it to hit 7o watts and blow the speaker you would need to have the volume up around 2-3 o'clock and that would be crazy loud.
in all honesty, if you want a nice spread of recto tones without spending the cash.... I think you should buy a Trem-o-verb and a roadster.
Again, this is my opinion.
the pre500's are nice and do have their thing, but its up to you to decide if its worth the premium.
Yes, as a point of reference I am not a fan of the Lonestar.
You can get Lonestar tones out of the Mark V but not the other way around.
Do it!!!!!!!!!!
I have not had any issues, and I have owned it since 2007. Used pedals, rack gear, etc. killer.
I just wish it had 2 8 ohm jacks.
I would reccomend it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hands down!
I own 2 2 channels (TOV and early Rectifier) and a Roadster. In my opinion the Roadster does not get exact tones of the 2 channels. The early DR is its own beast and there is nothing like it.
The TOV smokes. Flat out smokes. I had this at a gear fest, and it held its own to the Diezels...
Here is my thing with the Voodoo mods. If you replace the tranny, and a number of capacitors etc, is it really still a MESA rectifier?
I am not doubting its positive impacts, but your really changing the voice of what mesa desinged it to be. 8)
