Free I think I got scammed

On February 4th, 2024 I got an email from this forum from a member named "Gurneybob." I was looking for a head cabinet for Heartbreaker amp. Gurneybob said that a friend of his, Gregor Eichholz had one for sale. I reached out the Gregor. He sent me pictures, we sent several emails back and...

    Maverick 4x10 Speaker Choices

I bought a 4x10 Maverick combo on Reverb a couple of years ago, with the original Jensen P10R speakers. When I got it, the amp had some cone cry in one of the speakers. Because I live in a remote area, and because these are hard to come by, I asked the seller to refund enough of the purchase...

    Finally got another Maverick!

I just picked up a 4x10 Maverick combo on Reverb! I haven't had a Mav in a long time, and have never had the 4x10. I thought about an LSS, but prices are crazy! Now that I live on the Mainland again, shipping is affordable. I could never have gotten a 4x10 combo shipped to Hawaii!

    TC-100 vs Rectifier - Questions

I have a Rev. G Dual Rec and a Mark V. Neither one of these amps does what I want..... I love the cut of the Mark V, but it can't give me a huge thump like the Rectifier. I love the thump of the Rec, and the tone/feel of the lead channel, but the Orange/clean channel does nothing for me. I got...

    Lonestar 4x12 Cabinet - Opinions

I've been looking for an open back or partially open back cabinet. I don't like closed back 4x12's unless I'm playing outdoors. Even then, it would have to be a pretty big place for me to use a closed back. I have an 80's Mark series 2x12 half back cab that is great, but it's not wide enough...

    New Tubes for the V!

I'm always amazed at what a difference new tubes make. I just slapped a new set of tubes in my Mark V. I've been on the fence about this amp since I got it, but now I'm starting to see what the fuss is about. I did not use a 12AT7 in V4 or V6. I've never liked what they do to my tone. I did...

Mark V combo - Humbuckers vs. Single Coils

So..... I've been in the process of rewiring one of my Strats for a week or two. Other, more important stuff just keeps coming up. The Strat has DiMarzios (approximations of single coils, but no noise at all) - Area 61 in the neck - Area 58 in the middle - Virtual Solo in the bridge I...

Anyone use Channel 3 for low to medium gain?

I just can't get a high gain sound that I like from Channel 3 on my Mark V. I've tried numerous settings and the 12AT7 trick in V3. I love channels 1 & 2 though! Is anyone else using channel 3 for low to mid gain sounds? Here are the settings that I came up with this morning. I like this...

    NAD: Couldn't resist!

Thanks to Mark (my Enabler) at Sweetwater, I got a used/new to me Mark V combo today in the mail! So far I like it a lot! Gotta figure out how to remove some of the tubbiness from Channel 2 and add it into Channel 3 though. It's a little bit bitter sweet though because I bought a Roadster...

    Sold. Please Delete.

I have a very early 2:90 power amp for sale. This amp has a lot of scratches, but it's a work horse! I have discovered that I am more of a 2:50 kind of guy. I do not know the age of the tubes, but they all tested strong. Power Tubes will be removed and individually bubble wrapped for safe...

TC50 combo vs Rectoverb 25 combo

So........... Before I get started, if someone says, "Check it out before you buy it," I'm gonna scream! I live on an island in the Pacific with no Mesa dealer around. I would have to take a flight, then a cab, just to check it out and I'd be out $300.........The other side of that argument is...
