I have a MKII A that I'm thinking of putting a old Alnico Altec 417-8h in . Has anyone tried the Alnico versions of this speaker. I know Boogie offered the 417-8H Series II in the amps but any luck with the alnico version? I know they sound good in a Twin. What do you think?

I know what V1, V4 & V5 does but I'm a little confused about V2 & V3 . So is V2 side a and b, gain stages for the normal channel? Is V3a the Lead channel gain stage and V3b for reverb driver? I'm just trying to pick tubes and wanted some help on the function of each slot. Thanks- John

if I use the amp in the 60watt only with just the two outside 6l6 working will having the unmatched sovteks in the middle effect the bias on the outside tubes being used if the bias is set on the outside pair? and I know boogies like -52v or so, is this any different when biasing for 60watt use...
