Jmango: how is the head and ED cab compared to the combo? Same great big sound? Any differences? V30's, yes? Johnny

How do these two combos compare to each other? I can get a good deal on an F-50 and sell my Express for quite a bit more. All I really need is a good clean and a nice crunch so tone is the most important thing. Thoughts? Johnny

Interesting, that blending of 6L6 and EL34 tones. First time I've seen that. I wonder how much engineering goes into that? Johnny

I have an Express 5:50 1x12. I have a Fender tele. Anyone have some good settings (amp and gtr) to get a nice rollicking alt-country sound a la Old 97's, Drive-By Truckers, etc? A dirty-ish kinda clean, slightly overdriven, I guess. Which mode? Thanks. Johnny

Has anyone used the 4 ohm output for the stock C90 8 ohm speaker in a 1 x12 5:50 combo? How does that change the tone? I'll have to try it next time I'm at the practice space.

Hey, Weatherman. Did Marcus say anything about why the 23" versions (cabs and combos) are so much more open in the back? I'd love a lighter version of the ED but want to keep that huge sound. Johnny

I do have brand new preamp and power tubes from Mesa but you never know. I'll switch some tubes around next time. Yeah, I know Teles are bright but I love how it feels. Maybe adjusting the tone knob would be a good direction to go. Wouldn't explain the low volume, though.

The manual has a few sample setting which I assume result in fairly equal volumes in both channels. I'll try those out, see if my clean volume is where it should be. I have a new set of preamp tubes from Mesa in the amp but I can switch around V2 to see if there's a tube problem.
