Mini Rectifier Users - Your rigs and setup

Here's a suggestion: Get a used Boss GT-6, 8, or 10 and run it front of the Mini. The important thing is to only use the Compressor, OD/Distortion and amp control functions. I do this with mine and use the "mild distortion" into the green channel set at pushed to get an old school Marshall...

Possible issue with my Mini Rec

I talked to Richard Duval(sp?) at Mesa and he says this is normal. It still seems weird to me.

Does your Mini Rectifier do the same thing?

Possible issue with my Mini Rec

On the red channel, is it normal for there to be slight output even when the Master is set to zero? My Mini Rec is doing this and so is another one at a local store. Seems weird but if this is normal then there's nothing wrong with either amp.

I might be back in the Mesa camp...

Greetings everyone! About 4 years ago I was playing through a TriAxis rig but have since sold it. To make a long story short I've gone through a couple different preferred setups including a Marshall JVM, which I still have. I'm now interested in the Mini Rectifier because, truth be told, I have...

I hate doing it, but I need the money....

I'm not 100% sure. I've had it for 1 year, but I bought it as an open item at guitar center I know for a fact it had been there for a long time. (At least 1 or 2 years)

    Show me your rack!

Dang! With the Hafler and Marshall it is 6, and with the Triaxis it is 9. I should also add that I use a Boss GT-10 for effects, a Boss NS-2 and a BBE Sonic Stomp.

    Show me your rack!

This is my main guitar rack. First item is a two channel Hafler preamp from the late 80s early 90s. Clean channel is solid state and overdrive channel is all tube. Tones go from crystal clean to bluesy to all out metal assualt. I prefer all out metal assault and crystal clean. 2nd Item is a...

    Triaxis with Marshall dual monobloc

Version 1.0 pre phat-mod is considered the best version of the Triaxis. I have version 2.0 and the biggest difference is the usability of the LD1 red mode. I use a Triaxis and a Marshall 9100 Dual Monobloc and love it, but I can't really compare any of the Triaxis tones head to head with the...

    Mitch Mitchell dead

Yes I do, but I don't really know how else to label TJHE. Granted, labels are problematic all around. Much like I really have no idea what the difference between Death Metal and Black Metal is. (I use the same lame joke on other forums when I call a band Death Metal and someone slams me because...

    Just got the bb preamp

The GT-10 makes the GT-6 and 8 seem like toys. I use my Triaxis in the FX loop of the GT-10 and turn of the amp models and distortion pedals.

    whats a guy to do?

Try a JVM if you are hard core Marshall For boogies, I think the Mark IV is the best, but you might also try getting a Triaxis Preamp and using your current Marshall as the poweramp.

    Mesa Dynawatt 20/20 VS Marshall EL84 20/20

That may be true. I only demoed one in a store with a Rocktron Voodu Valve. I felt it was overpriced so I got a 9100 Dual Monobloc on eBay for far less.

    Triaxis v2.0 LD1 red

Marshall 9100 dual monobloc, 2 6L6 power tubes per side. Granted it's not a Mesa, but every setting on the Triaxis shines through it except LD1 Red. I could easily come up with 10 good settings for LD2 green, yellow or red, 3 or 4 good settings for LD1 green and yellow, and an infinite number of...

    Triaxis v2.0 LD1 red

I've used their recommendations and to me it still never sounds "right". Maybe someone else out there lives and dies by this setting, but to me it just sounds like crap

    Pic: Hetfield's current rig

From wikipedia: For Ride the Lightning in 1984, Hetfield used an Ibanez Tube Screamer TS-9 overdrive pedal in combination with a Marshall JMP2203 amplifier, and Marshall 1960B speaker cabinets. He equalized the tone so it would have as minimal midrange frequencies as possible. This also...
