    Mark V:25 Makes A Clicking Sound

    I think I'd start with a tube swap (you didn't mention that that was done). Some tubes, when starting to go bad, will start to make a putt, putt, putt sound at different speeds on their way to eventually failing. I hope that helps.

    Warm water is the way to go. Don't be afraid to let it soak for a few hours. I wouldn't try to stretch it too much though. It's too easy to lose the original wicker pattern if you stretch it.     I don't think you need to worry. I'm assuming that none of the tubes are glowing a lot more than the others, right? I've got a Mark V:35 and I think the fan is loud until I strike a note, then I realize that there's no issues, I'm just dealing with a little beast!

    That sounds like a 60Hz hum. So, Yes for that one. Unplug any instrument that's plugged in and turn down all of the knobs. Does it still hum (aside from fans, etc)? If so, that may be an issue.
