Looking to buy a matching Mesa Boogie 1x12 Oak Cabinet for my Mark I. Located in the SF Bay Area. Let me know what you got.

Free I think I got scammed

Sounds like the same scam involving a headshell for sale on this forum for a while. Had a similar incident occur with a seller out of AK, but I refused to send the funds via F&F. The seller insisted. Something was strange with their story, so reported it to Admin. That user was booted by end...

@Brandon Breeze I find this highly educational. It should be mandatory viewing prior to letting members engage in buying/selling.

Is the dual rectifier considered a simul class amp design?

A Simul-Class Rectifier would be interesting, but wouldn’t sound as huge as an A/B output.

    New (to me) Mark IIB

Plan is to loop mod the SG and DRG. The HRGX was loop modded by Mike a few years back. The mod definitely added some gain.

    New (to me) Mark IIB

@jmf1928 They’re great amps and your comments are spot on. The 60w’s breakup sooner and are thinner/brighter sounding than their 100/60w counterparts. As for the tonal differences of the IIB run, the early ones are warm, a lot of bass and loose. As the run progressed it became tighter, more...

Mark III + is a firebreather

@Appleridge congrats on the 3+ and welcome to the Mesa Boogie Mark rabbit hole…. @xdg999 is spot on about the No Stripes being close to the IIC+. Difference wise, they are a little more forward in the mids and tighter on the bottom end. If you get a chance to buy a IIC+ for a good price, go...

    Mark IIb serial numbers

Here's a headscratcher for this thread. Serial # 540X w/ Export Transformer dated 6/24/80. Preamp Board # RP 8C. Mike B. has been in this one (loop mod & preamp tweaks). Looking at Mesa’s serial # range, it looks like this may be a very late IIA or early IIB?

Anyone get screwed on Board Classifieds?

It may be the same Jabroni who tried to get me a few months ago. They were claiming to be from Alaska, had a blue/black snake skin headshell and demanded Friends & Family or Venmo. I reported them to the admin and they got booted. Wouldn’t be surprised if they spun up a new account. Pull the...

    Mark IIB to IIC+ Conversion

@Jay Omega just a demo of the clean and lead channels. I’d love to hear how much gain and saturation is on tap. Typical settings I use on my Mark IIC+/++ HRG Volume 1 = 7 Treble (pulled) = 6 Bass = 2.5 Middle = 2 Master 1 = 4.5 Lead Drive (pulled) = 6.5 Lead Master = 4 GEQ settings 80hz =...

    Mark IIb serial numbers

+1 on what @jmf1928 is asking. "Is there any detail around the revisions and how the tone evolved?"

Should Mesa Boogie reissue the Mark IIC+ ?

@woodbutcher65 from your lips to God’s ears! 🤞

Should Mesa Boogie reissue the Mark IIC+ ?

A reissue would be awesome. I wouldn’t put it past Gibson to push Mesa into this. A quality reissue is possible given todays parts. As far as it being assembled and all components being 100% authentic to the originals, I don’t see that happening. Manufacturing costs would be too expensive...

    Re-tubing recommendations for Lonestar Classic

Hello Boogieboard members, I'm looking to re-tube a recently acquired Lonestar Classic 100/50/10. Any recommendations are appreciated as to what 12ax7's & EL34/KT77/6CA7's I should obtain? The amp sounds pretty dark and is currently loaded with JJ 6L6GC's & its original worn Mesa 12ax7's.

Thanks Dr. G. I haven't gotten around to this project, but will attempt what you described first. The less invasive the better.

Rectifier Tolex (or is it Pleather?) Questions

Thanks rarebitusa. Your recommendation to reseat and roll it sounds like the best option. Haven't found any vendors that sell this material.

Rectifier Tolex (or is it Pleather?) Questions

Hi all, first time poster on The Boogie Board and hoping you all can help me out. I scored a Dual Rectifier Rev F and its original Oversized Slant 4x12 cabinet today. I have a couple questions about the tolex (or is it pleather?) covering Mesa used on these earlier Rectifiers. The covering is...
