REISSUE Rumor: Mark IIC+ and 2ch Recto

So they are calling "Class-A" mode in the re-Issue 25 Watts, which is what the Green Stripe Mark 3 is rated (Triode). Hmmmm....

REISSUE Rumor: Mark IIC+ and 2ch Recto

Sounds like they did a fine job with the re-issue. My old-ass tubes might be the only difference.

    Sylvania 6CA7's (STR-616) won't give any problems. https://reverb.com/item/31049775-mesa-boogie-str-415-str-416-power-tube-set-phillips-sylvania-6l6-gc-el34-6ca7-mark-iii-iic

REISSUE Rumor: Mark IIC+ and 2ch Recto

3 Mark 2C+ DRG heads, and all EVM-12L speakers. No GAS at all. The Black heads were bought for $2500 or less, the hardwood was bought as a cream combo for $2300. Those hardwood cabs cost me more than some good running used cars.

Reissue mark IIC + end of the month

A true re-issue sounds good on paper, but if you want a wide variety of tones, it has limitations. I've found that a person would be better off with at least two of them and a switcher, of some type.

Recent loop modded mark IIb questions

When I had my 1978 Mark I with that mod, I used the front Master Volume knob to blend the mids, and the rear knob to adjust the overall volume. With a BOSS OD-1 into the input of the amp. But I was not using any effects through the loop. Just a loud-ass 60/100 played through a 4x12.

More Mark 2c+ vs Mark III vs 50 Caliber+ questions/commentary

I personally have laid hands on 12399 and 12400, both of which had the RP-11A preamp board.

Mark III simul-class - Issue in Class A mode with EL34's in outer sockets.

Back when I used my Bias-Rite, the STR 415's would run about 42Ma in the outer sockets of the 105 C+, and the STR-416 would run in the mid 20Ma in those same sockets. No changes made to the circuit. Let it eat. If you are trying to beef up your sound by increasing the bias on the Class-A...

    Triode/Pentode switch on mark III

DPDT switch and some wire, and you are set. Disconnect the buss-wire side the screen-grid resistor on the outer sockets (Not pin #3) and use the switch to determine which socket terminal that it connects to. The switch will have 6 terminals, I believe.

    Triode/Pentode switch on mark III

Get a Red stripe and ride the line.

Sweetwater is showing "new" mesa tubes

The STR-454 6L6 and STR-442 EL-34 tubes were the best since the Sylvanias, in my opinion. I bought up all the Sylvanias that I could afford, back when you could actually find them. Mainly for the life expectancy of them. Hell, that is what the early Marks were designed around.

    Would you sell your mesaboogie?

The answer is a big "Hell to the NO". It took me more than a few years to find three DRG short-head Mark 2C+ heads, much less the EVM-12L cabs. The MESA amp switcher sealed the deal.

    Mark III+ vs III++

I have a stock DRG Simul 2C+ that I will hit with an Xotic RC booster mainly when I split the coils on the Anderson Cobras, just to gain back some of the volume loss. I would say stick to just the + mod.

New guy here with possible mark 2 c +

I have personally seen serial # 12399 and 12400 that were original un-modified 2C+ 60/100 amps. So that is all that I know.

    New to Board, no hurry

The thing about it being a 15" model throws a wrench in the gears, It should be a "K" model. but I have seen otherwise on Mark 3 coliseums.

Should Mesa Boogie reissue the Mark IIC+ ?

I chose the reverse approach, and outfitted a 2C+ with RFT and Tungsram pre's, Sylvania power tubes, and EVM-12L speakers. In various cabinets. Then tuned my guitar(1973 Gibson LP Deluxe routed for full size HB pickups) around that setup. Just a different approach, I guess.
