    Jeff Loomis Blackouts-->Mark IV?

Anyone using a guitar loaded with Jeff Loomis Blackouts through a Mark IV? If so any good? I've heard them sound both awesome and total garbage depending on the rig/chain. Just wondering if anyone here has first-hand experience.🍻

Very frustrated trying to change V1 preamp tube

It’s much simpler than that. It’s because they wanna cram it all into such a small space. That’s how Marks started to begin with, now it’s a running joke. Nothing wrong with a complex amp, it’s the real estate that’s the issue.

Should Mesa Boogie reissue the Mark IIC+ ?

Inflation definitely factors in, but really they (or possibly Gibson, maybe) can slap whatever price they want on it and there are people that would pay it. If they no longer have the schematic they'll have to painstakingly reverse engineer a few examples. That takes time and money away from...

Should Mesa Boogie reissue the Mark IIC+ ?

I think an authentic Mark IIC+ reissue would cost closer to $10,000.

    Mark VII?

Nah, Traynor had a Mark III and that didn't stop them. You can't copyright something as generic as "mark", it's like trying to copyright "Version 6", it means the exact same thing. They said that Randall was working on it so long that it basically skipped an iteration by the time it was...

Anyone using a Century Vintage with their Mark IV-A?

Anyone using a Century Vintage with their Mark IV-A? Openback? Closed? Do you have it paired up with anything, like an EVM? Any thoughts on its breakup and blending? I've heard it's pretty savage for Marks. I really liked the speaker in general but don't have access now to try with mine...

Why Are Mark Vs So Expensive?

Oh I dunno, maybe because they bought Epiphone and shipped them overseas for 5 or 6 decades? But don't get me wrong I agree with you, I'm not jumping to any conclusions. I'd sooner Gibson own them than some random holding companies where they're bought and sold over and over as the brand dies a...

Why Are Mark Vs So Expensive?

Only the original 90W Mark V is three channel, the 25W and 35W versions are two channel. Anyone advertising otherwise has got it wrong. Each channel on the smaller versions is found on the 90W, they just removed three modes to pare it down. Channel one on the smaller amps essentially combines 1...

Why Are Mark Vs So Expensive?

There's a difference between something being expensive and not being able to afford it.

Why do you want to do this?

    Mark IV Pull Pot

Yeah but will it be Fender supplying you with the parts or aftermarket like old Boogies?

    What's your fave speaker?

I love the EVM. And my old Hiwatt 4 x 12 with Fanes. Contemporary faves are the Eminence DV-77 (for that sound), and Celestion 70th anni's and Century Vintage. 90W Cream is a strong contender too.

Would this also apply to the Mark IV bubinga cab, 1991? Tia!

MKIV Widebody chassis into MKV headshell??

No. A JP-2C shell might work though, the dimensions of the chassis are much closer. But the bolt holes could still be completely off. Get a proper Mark IV shell made.

This is an amazing OP omg. Fascinating. Many thanks!

MKIV: Is there a replacement for this?

Completely agree, and it's got me more than a little stressed out, because my Mark IV hasn't been serviced I think ever (I'm its newest owner). At least not properly. So far switches and everything more unique to the amp are fine, it needs caps and resistors checked/replaced, but still I need to...

    Lone Stars Discontinued?

They're gone. They told me they were streamlining everything and getting rid of a lot of redundancies, which makes loads of sense to me. There was a lot of overlap, especially between cabs that didn't really set them apart from each other. So they've ditched a lot of them, kept others and just...

Capacitor on Powertube Socket - Mesa Mark III green stripe

Just wanted to say congrats on grabbing a killer amp! Welcome to the club! (y)

So, what amps do you own?

That is a deadly set-up I love those older Mesa cabs. Cheers!
