    Who's still running original capacitors. I know it's probably time for a cap job, but it still sounds great, and Mesa told me to not worry about it until it sounded off a few years back.

    Most 50 Cal's use a Mesa spec'd Celestion C90 (aka Black Shadow MC90) There is a lot of confusion/bad info saying the + indicates a model has the GEQ (which is wrong). The plus is the mod with the lead master. Another history thread: http://forum.grailtone.com/viewtopic.php?t=44396 IMHO...

    50 Caliber Plus Noise Issue

    The noise floor on these amps is high. I assume that is your issue and it's a matter of degree. It only bugs me if I think about it. ;-) If I use just the power amp (e.g., modeler into FX return), the noise goes away.

    Modification to move Graphic EQ and/or Reverb after Effects Return

    Is it possible to move the location of the Graphic EQ and/or Reverb to after the Effects Loop Return on a .50 Caliber+? It's probably heresy to explain my reasoning, but I'll share anyway. I'm using the Boogie more and more often as a power amp for my modeler. It works surprisingly well...

    No idea if this is your (only) issue, but it's common for the effects loop jack to get oxidized ... which tricks the amp into thinking something has been plugged into the effects return ... which can cause the signal to cut out. The fix is some contact cleaner sprayed on a 1/4 jack that you...
