    Have a 5:50; why am I gassing for a Marshall Class 5?!

Gas tamped. I bought some lessons AND a 4 OHM hot plate. :D Being able to crank my Express up higher will be as satisfying as buying a small Marshall.

    Have a 5:50; why am I gassing for a Marshall Class 5?!

These don't seem to be in stock anywhere. Hopefully GAS pains will subside by the time they actually start showing up. AHHHHH! Thanks for the help guys. I don;t need to spend another $400 on anything besides lessons.

    Have a 5:50; why am I gassing for a Marshall Class 5?!

I already have a 5:50 that I love. Is there any reason to be gassing for a Marshall Class 5? Will the Marshall do anything that I can't already get out of the Express in 5 watt mode? AHHH - GAS TOO POWERFUL!

    Express 5:50 vrs Bogner Alchemist

Yeah - I can't leave my Express. Sounds too good, looks too good, & solid as a rock. AND it shares production line space (QC, MANAGEMENT ETC), and supply chain with amps 3 times the price. I'm more intrigued by the fact that the Alchemist is getting so much more attention than the Express did...

    Express 5:50 vrs Bogner Alchemist

The Express and the new Alchemist spec out really similarly. a.) Wattage adjust b.) 6L6 c.) 2 channel with 2 separate psuedo channels in each channel d.) 1x12 or 2x12 combos in addition to head/cab configs e.) Priced about the same Who wins? Do they sound similar? I own the 5:50 Express...

Retube - Dimmed tubes question - Express

I just did a tube swap on my Express 5:50. I noticed something odd and wanted to see if anyone else can explain or verify it. The preamp tubes in V2 and V5 don't glow much at all. Like 5% of the glow when compared to the other tubes. I swapped in the original tubes in the same spots and...

How do Express 5:50's take effects pedals in the loop?

Build your own clone. BYOC. Its a company that sells boutique pedals in kit form. Great and inexpensive. Probably save about 75 dollars per pedal over completed pedals.

BYOC Delay pedal and a Planet Waves tuner pedal in my 5:50 effects loop. No problems.

Yellow Jackets in Express - Tried it and now like it

Okay - I've played these yellow jackets more and played with the tones and I like them now. Nice and warm cleans and the blues setting is really nice in the 5 watt mode. I'm going to keep them in. Not sure if the crunch and burn setting will be as good. Fingers crossed.

Yellow Jackets in Express - Tried it and now like it

Ok - picked up a set of standard Yellow Jackets, installed them in my 5:50...and so far underwhelmed. They definitely sound different than the 6L6's. I can leave the tone knobs on 9 or 10 on my guitars for one thing. I've been dialing the tone knobs on my guitars down to 2 or 3 with the stock...

NEW EXPRESS 5:50 OWNER - Contour Question

Thanks. Tried it out this weekend CRANKED, and yeah...I get it with contour now. Cool feature. I noticed a funny thing too... there isn't anywhere to hide my playing mistakes on this amp. The cleans and the crunch are so crisp, it actually gives me no where to hide (figuratively). 'Right'...

Yellow Jackets in Express - Tried it and now like it

Anyone put yellow jackets in their Express 5:50? Can I still use 5 watt mode if I do this or do they have to run in pairs?

NAMM 2008 - Any rumors or exspectations?

C'mon - somebody has to be at the show with a blackberry or an iphone. I gotta know the scoop

NEW EXPRESS 5:50 OWNER - Contour Question

Hello Boogie Board. Just stepped up to a Boogie Express 5:50. Really digging it for cleans. Haven't gotten a chance to crank it for crunch yet. Here's the question: Is the contour adjustment only noticeable for gained up sounds? I don't really hear it doing anything for just low volume...

    Best Mesas for low volumes?

I'll vouch for the Express 5:50 at low volume. Doesn't sound box-ey. Very full without having to get into gig levels. This is speaking of clean sounds only. Decent Crunch or Burn would be too loud for my apartment.

    mesa boogie set prices?

Yep. I was told of a price increase as well. Around $100 on everything after NAMM. Also was told of a 1X12 version of the 5:25 Express.
