FS Lonestar Classic 1X12 w/ bias mod

This amp is modded with a Bias control, Fender tilt back legs, a Weber Cali 12 speaker, and both of the "Reeder Mods" . It sounds great, I have just made a different amp my main machine, and since I now have 7 amps, I need to get rid of some. $1000.00 and buyer pays shipping.

    Mesa Lonestar Classic for sale

This amp is in great cosmetic condition, built in 2004, blue tolex, 1X12, I am the original owner. I have installed Fender tilt back legs, a Weber California 12 speaker, and the "Reeder mod # 1". "Reeder mod #2" I installed originally on both channels, but then I changed the clean channel back...

    LSC 1X12 combo for sale

I'm in State College, PA and I have an LSC I'm thinking of gettiing rid of (again, because it's too **** heavy). It has the Reeder mod #1, and the Reeder Mod #2 just on the gain channel. It is the older version LSC. I have fitted it with Fender tilt back legs, and the Weber Ceramic California 12...

Is there an easy way to check screen grid resistors?

I have an LSC and it seems to be underpowered. Is there a quick way I can test the screen grid resistors without pulling the chassis out? I read somewhere about measuring impedance on one of the pins of the power tube sockets to see if there is resistance. I believe the resistor is supposed to...

Anyone tried zen drives out with their Lonestar?

I'm considering getting one, what are your opinions of it?

Has anyone else taken the plunge and installed a Weber Cali?

I was just curious, I wanted to try one out based on BobLs great research on speaker options for the LSC, but I figured I could ask you guys and see if any of you already had swapped in a Weber California 12 with a metal dustcap and what you thought of it as well.

    need a pickup recommendation

I have a Brubaker Custom with a mahogany body, a little dark sounding. Has 3 pickups with coil tapping, bridge is a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates, Neck is a Seymour Duncan Little '59 . The middle pickup drives me crazy, I have had a Cool Rails in there and a Vintage Rails in there (I'm not married...

    LSC owners:Try EL34s with Yellowjacket/EL84s

I was trying to see if I could get a Marshall 1974X tone out of Channel 2 somehow, and put some old Seimens EL34s in the inner sockets and the Yellowjacket EL84s in the outer sockets (100 watt setting, with the tube rectifier on). To make a long story short, I did not get the 1974X tone I...

Is it possible to get an 18 watt Marshall sound from an LSC?

Specifically the model 1974. I'm hoping it's somewhere in Channel 2. Has anyone been able to get that tone?

Phase inverter and power tube distortion

I was discussing some possible mods with Trace at Voodoo Amps, asking about putting a bias pot (or would it be pots) on my LSC, so I could run the power tubes a little hotter and overdrive them. What he told me surprised me; that when you get an overdriven sound from the power section of the...

Noise problem with effects board, need advice

I play through a single coil guitar, which is well shielded, and when I plug directly into my amp, is pretty quiet. When I use my effects board, I get a very loud hum. I have tried to isolate the offending pedal, but it does it with all of them, leading me to believe it may be the power supply...

    Boost pedal question

Can you get power tube distortion out of a high volume amp like a Mesa Lone Star by putting the boost in the effects loop? Would you then be bypassing the preamp tubes ('cos I hate the sound of preamp distortion) and overdriving the power section?

Best tone settings in LSC for stock stratocaster

What are the really sweet spots in both channels for strats? I play no metal, just soul, blues, funk and classic rock. I like the "Sultans of Swing " tone a lot. Charles Reeder, if you're out there today, my amp is probably pretty close to your set up now as far as tubes, speaker, and mods go...

Is there a way to get power tube break up out of an LSC

I've figured out that the tone I'm not liking so much in Channel 2 is the sound of pre amp distortion as opposed to power tube distortion. I'm trying to approximate the sound of an overdriven Super Reverb in Channel 2, but it sounds too "grainy" for want of a better word. I have already done...

Updates for best speaker in an LSC?

I have searched a lot of the posts, and was wondering if everyone is for the most part still agreed on the EVM 12L as the best speaker for an LSC. I play mainly blues and want to get rid of the woofiness in the OEM speaker. I have done both Reeder mods and like them, but in my quest to make it...

    Volume drop overall on LSC

When I first got this amp, it would be pretty loud with the output knob at about 9:00; now I'm having to turn the output knob to 12:00 or 1:00 to get the same volume. Sometimes I would be playing and the volume would suddenly jump to its normal, louder volume; it doesn't do that anymore. I tried...

Anyone actually use their effects loop?

Is there an advantage to using the loop as opposed to putting effects in front of the amp?
