Did it do this with other amps? I’d reach out to TC and see what they say. Maybe you have an odd defect. I’m surprised you need the Decimator with the Triple Crown. I have the TC100 head, and it’s dead quiet alone, or with my Helix in 4CM.

Try swapping pre-amp tubes around and see if things change. Check the manual for the tube function chart. V1 is clean only, as is v2. Try swapping v1 or v2 with v3 or v4 and see if the situation flips.

I thought that was for when not using foot switch. If it’s on and foot switch is hooked up, does it come up on, but is footbswitchable from there?

I picked up the TC-100 recently and have been using it with my Friedman Runt horizontal 212 with v30s. I ordered the Mesa vertical 212 yesterday and expect it on Monday. I’ll report back after I get it.

Tried out the 6V6 tubes and am going to stick with them. I also had a set of SPAX7’s that i very briefly had in my Mark V 90 watt head, but I yanked them out when I sold it. Those are in all spots but the AT7 spot. Im really glad I decided to get this head. Dead quiet, and inspiring tones...

Either of the speaker outs on the head is fine. They are in parallel. Assuming it’s a Mesa 212, set the head for 8 ohm.

Head came in today and I'm really glad I pulled the trigger on it. The master volume is simply fantastic. I usually use a Rivera Rockcrusher to tame things to the volumes I use, but there's no need at all with the TC100. It will be a while before I try the 6V6's, as I'm loving how it sounds...

Wondering what the likelihood of a 25/10 watt TC appearing in the future is? Ideally, also with an onboard 5 band. Sadly, I'm thinking slim to none, but I can hope right? I absolutely love crunch on the Mark Five 25 that I already own, and I tend to go more Marshall flavored in my amp...

I went back to the Mesa (JJ) preamps in my Mark V and V:25, and plan to stick with them. I'm done tube rolling in these heads and will stick with the Mesa branded. In my Marshall I prefer Chinese from a reliable tester such as Ruby, TAD, Groove (less so lately) or other.

I've not tried an EQ n the loop of my JVM, but I keep an MXR 10 Band on my board and use it on my Mark. Not for major tweaks, and usually only for very slight cuts in very specific frequencies. The only time I boost is in the home studio to fatten up the low end at low volumes.
