    6505

    Given you could have any amp you wanted, there's only one sound I would use out of the 6505, but it's a darn good heavy chug, at any price. I also liked the sound of the 6505 a lot more than the 6505+ (or 5150 over the 5150 II); less anemic.

    Bogner, Diezel or Cornford?

    The VH4 has a very round, compressed attack that's a lot of fun for juicy solos. For dialing in Vai sounds I think you would enjoy that amp over the others, including the Mark IV. That's my opinion from owning both.
