2:100 blew a tube kaboom!
So, I'm playing my rectifier recording pre through the 2:100 to a 4x12 recto cab at moderate levels. I turn it up pretty loud and do a couple riffs and hear a tink and I lose half my volume and it sounds muffled, then tink tink and out it goes with a puff of smoke and that lovely electrical fry...- Eric B

Strategy 400 Stereo tubes
Need to know what I can keep in my Strategy 400 Stereo and what to replace. There is a mix and I don't know squat about tubes. The more I read the more confused I am about the options and what it will do. I obviously can't buy them all and listen with my own ears so I'm looking to the board for... -

I don't like H4 if you're playing at any decent volume! The 81/85 is awesome so... they are just not related in my opinion. -

Which would you choose-2CH. Dual Rec or Recto Pre?
I have all the pieces you are considering. To me it depends on the style of music you play most. The Rec Pre is killer to me for metal and the dual is a bit darker. I like the rack stuff because you can change your power amp choice on the fly. There are advantages either way. I'd say get another...- Eric B
