Mesa has released the CAB CLONE

The Torpedo Live is significantly more $$$, needs a rack, and power. I like the form and function of the Clone. I'm pretty sure it will sound decent in my hands....

Mesa Grid Slammer vs Maxon OD808

Personally, the TS circuit in front of a Recto sounds fantastic. Tightens the low end and turns it into a flamethrower....gain at zero- dime the volume on the pedal.

    Mark V owners, question

The first time I played a 112 combo, I thought it was weak and thin. It was operator error. It is NOT plug and play. It is however, a absolute powerful workhorse that will literally fit in ANY genre. I have great gear and have logged over 30 years on electric guitar. Every time I plug in to the...

I tried a mark V and couldn't dial it in.

You need to spend time with the Mark. Real time. And really, it's well worth your effort. This amp is full of subtleties that need to be explored. Tiny adjustments to the knobs can result in big changes sonically.

    Mark V with a 112 V30?

Just wondering if it would be harmful to run Mark with a V30 if you never got out of 10 or 45 watts?

I tried a mark V and couldn't dial it in.

The Mark series is not plug and play....but worth the effort. Small adjustments make big changes sonically- it's also important to use your ears and not visually "see" what position the knobs are turned to.

Mark V channel switching with an Axe Fx II

If you intend on using the Axe via 4cm- make sure you invest in some hum buster cables- otherwise you will experience some horrible noise. Hum busters will eliminate that scenario.

    Random Mark V chat...

Marks gain is from the preamp circuit, which is why it sounds great at low volume- I'm not completely positive that volume impacts the actual saturation that much or simply amplifies it when taken higher. Someone else can chime in who has more expertise

The benefit of a Mesa "in shop" demo

I love the Dyne. EASILY my second favorite Mesa. Spent several years with one, and it really was a fun ride. The blue channel low is one of my all time favorite amp tones. My problem with the ED is that it doesn't have a bedroom volume. And I need a bedroom volume amp if I want to plug in at...

New to board..best cab for my new ED head?

This is true. Also, I have owned a few Mesas- and I would argue that the Dyne is the loudest amp I have ever heard. I have literally "moved stuff" on shelves with my old ED...it will boar holes in concrete if you open it up a bit.
