Why do single coils sound crappy when it comes to mesa boogies? Humbuckers purr great but sc pups sound weak. No im not confining it to one model, generally. Also any recommendations to make the sound better with single coils. I have '57/'62 fender pick ups which sound great on other amp brands.

I read that the jj e34l tubes tighten up the bass. Subsequently also the ecc83 s. I know a few you guys have these tubes and wonder just how much of an improvement...ie minor or major? Especially from those who own stilettos... thanks.

I m looking for a smaller more protable cab for my stiletto head. I love the 4 x 12 trad. recto but it can be a little big. My question is, can a 1 x 12 recto cab put out some decent volume that is able to hold its own in gig situation?

Is the lonestar comparable in cleans to a fender super reverb. I understand that the super has 10' speakers and the lonestar has 12" so they can never be 100% identical. However i was wondering if a lone star can sound similar or has its own style of clean or even both?
