how clean is the chassis and headshell? It's hard to see from those pics

I tried them out over 2 months after I bought them, it's kind of my problem at this point =\ I'll see if I can have them checked by somebody.

Interested in Partial trades? I've got 2 Mark III heads; One is a green stripe rackmount and the other is a red stripe in a creme headshell. I may have someone local who can work something out.

just an update for the sake of those looking at these threads in the search function later on: It turns out that the problem was the contact points inside the tube sockets! They were loose.

I know that, I'm just asking if sonically there's a big difference.

Don't mean to hijack the thread. But do these make as big a difference on the Mark III as they do the Mark IIC+?

I know it's not exactly what you asked for, but just lettign you know that I'm letting go of one of my Mark IIIs. It's a rackmounted green stripe with a 4 space ATA style roadcase.

Don't mean to be nitpicking, but I'm pretty sure it was an HRGX. I know because I had the opportunity to buy it from a previous owner :) Happy Holidays!

I gave it to my (mesa certified) tech, and since we work in the same place it shouldn't cost me much, even with a re-tube. It's not very feasible for me to send it to Mike B. since I'm in Canada. But if everything fails I'kll have no choice I guess... =\

Is that possible given the fact that the amp was supposed to have been serviced less than a year ago? (I say supposed because that's what the seller told me, and he's reliable). EDIT: No more volume intermittence, just overall lower volume now...

Minor update. Put new tubes in it, and while the hissing seems to have dropped, the volume swells are just as prevalent as before, if not even more. Another thing I noticed: I changed the outside pair of tubes from EL34s to 6L6s. Are the 6L6s naturally supposed to be hotter? Played same things...

I don't know about that though.
