Muddy Fulltone Clyde Wah Wah - thoughts

I have got the Delux, so whilst I like the standard position 'jimi' I think it is called, I might try one of the other two setting 'wacked' and 'shaft' I think they are or something like that. Shame though as the Jimi setting sounds great on the clean channel. Just might need to be a bit more...

Muddy Fulltone Clyde Wah Wah - thoughts

Hi, I am using a Fulltone Clyde Delux Wah (pre-output buffer addition) straight into the front of a LoneStar Classic. On Ch2, with gain and drive set around 2-3pm, the wah effect almost disappears, even using a Strat with the bridge pick-up. Any suggestions for fixing this without affecting...

    Ch2 50W vs 100W LSC tightness - a difference, or just me?

Hi, That makes sense. I don't ever push the power tubes that hard in 100w mode, but do in 50w mode. i wonder if that introduces more compression and might make things feel tighter? I've not changed the power tubes for 3-4 years so it might be getting near time for that, though I only gig...

    Ch2 50W vs 100W LSC tightness - a difference, or just me?

Hi, I've been trying to get my 10/50/100 LSC to work well with the neck pickup of my clapton strat, and gain/drive at the higher end of things (2-3pm). Its given me a lot of problems, but I tried the amp at rehearsal last night in 50w diode, rather than 100w diode mode and some of the natural...

Lone Star Reeder Mod #1: Channel 2 Pot-Swap

Thanks all - actually made a little bit of progress by having channel 2 in 50w diode, rather than 100w diode mode. This has surprised me a little and will post separately in the main channel on it. Some of the propper strat neck tone came through even with the drive and gain around 2pm. Still...

Lone Star Reeder Mod #1: Channel 2 Pot-Swap

Hi all, I've read about the Reeder Mod's a lot and am seriously considering opening up 'my baby' now to try it. I've watched a lot of videos and they are always difficult to get a good idea of the mod sound, so thought perhaps I'll ask the people that have done the mod directly, especially as...

    LSC combo to head/cab conversion

Hi all, I love my LSC but the other night caused a muscular injury at the elbow moving it at the end of a gig - she's a heavy girl. I could just go and buy a trolley to move it around on, but am exploring whether converting it to a head/cab would be better. It would certainly give me more...

    LSC with TC Electronic G-system

Just my 2p, but..... I had a G-System Limited for 10 days before I sent it back, because despite the reworked analog section to my ears it did still change thin the tone. I have an LSC 212 10/50/100. I had no noise problems but for me it changed the tone too much. Others will disagree but...

    Chorus and Compressor recommendations

Thanks all! Some great suggestions including some that I have not heard of. Best get myself somewhere for some A/B'ing D

    Chorus and Compressor recommendations

All great stuff guys thanks. On the point of more noise than the G-System, I can live with that, but the pedals won't suck more tone. Plus i'm using a GigRig Pro-14 which is a great pedalboard controller. Already using that with about 24 metres of George L cable making a four-cable method and...

    Chorus and Compressor recommendations

Thanks both will look into those - hadn't even heard of Rothwell.

    Chorus and Compressor recommendations

Calling on the wise! I spent years building a rack only to finish it off with a TC G-System Limited, and find that it changes your basic tone alot more than the marketing suggests!!! So that's all being sold and I am going the pedalboard route. I wanted to get people's opinions on the best...

Power amp tube help with LSC V1

Be interested to hear what they say as according to the manual in 50w mode only the outer two 6L6 power tubes 'are online'. If you look at the manual there is a section that talks about loading the amp with 6v6 tubes and using the tweed mode (they won't take the full power voltage). This...

    Channel 2 cutting out intermittently

There is another possibility. Do you use the G-System to switch the channel and solo? If so, you may have damaged the switching system within the amp. G-System uses a shared rather than isolated ground for these inputs and apparently that can cause problems (i think I am saying that right)...

Power amp tube help with LSC V1

Hi, You don't need to remove the valves - I am not sure how that would make a difference, as when you are in 50w, only one pair of the 6L6 tubes are on. The paragraph below is from the Lonestar manual: NOTE: At some point in your experimentation with the Channel Power Select switches, try...

    UK Warranty Length?

I took delivery of my amp in June 2007, so it is over 2 years old so I don't think that legislation counts. That said, there is a law in the UK that says goods must be of a satisfactory condition to do the job they were intended for, and given I only really do a gig a month, this is not the...

    UK Warranty Length?

Looks like nobody knew over the weekend. I spoke to the UK distributor and it is a miserable 1 year we get in the UK. Don't you get 5 in the US!!!!!! So looks like its time to crap open the soldering iron and grab the amp (or is that the other way round.......) D

    UK Warranty Length?

Hi, Anyone know the warranty length on MESA amps in the UK? I know it is less than the five years (so I hear) that US customers get, but I can't find anything in my paperwork. Thanks, D

    Lonestar 10/50/100 switching issue

I didn't really look at cracks on the PCB so I will double check that before I go cracking open the amp. D

    Lonestar 10/50/100 switching issue

Thanks for that I will look into it - if I can get it fixed quickly for free locally then that would be preferable. If there is anyone else out there that has had this problem it would be good to hear, so I have a little weight to my argument if the UK distributor gets a little 'funny' D
