I have one of these "vintage" ones in a thiele cabinet as well. It also has the same code 812 2859 9738. 812 signifies 8 ohm - 12", while 2859 may be the "model" number. - the original OEM 12L used 9460 as it's number. 9738, dates it to week 38 of 1997. I wonder whether the speaker...

The fan is in a better position and they've at last switched to an IEC mains connection. I would hope they've either got rid of, or made a better power harness connection to the main board. Mine burnt out, but luckily didn't further damage anything.

It might be worth also considering two 1 x 12 thiele or half-back cabinets. The older styled cabs had the EV speakers whereas now they have Celestion C90's. I definitely prefer the EV's. You have an advantage of working in stereo 8) and either stacking or placing your cabs apart for a bigger...
