Mesa or Fender for ultra cleans

FWIW, sometimes people get thrown off because the LS series (like many Mesa amps) has two rectifiers in it (solid state and tube). That doesn't make it a part of the "recto" lineage though.

What Mesa Amp is the most versatile to cover MANY styles????

The lonestar switches down to to 5 watts on each channel

    Ace, Lonestar, Mark V???

this or a Lonestar. They all had epic cleans. The Stilettos have really good cleans, but the ED and LS are a little better. Gain wise, I don't think you need as much as is available on the Stiletto. Try them all out though and make your own decision.

    Lone star special or classic

This has been my experience as well, but I will also point out that the LS series is darker than fenders typically are. It's a unique voicing and I like it a lot. I always found that it was difficult to get balanced sounds on fenders across all pickup selections. With the LS, there's more...

Anybody ever try a lonestar through a 210?

If so, what was the experience like?

If the Lonestar didn't exist, what would you turn to?

Mark iv or v, electradyne, stilleto, and prayer.

    Feature wish.

As has been noted before on this forum, the lonestar would be perfect if you could switch the drive, reverb, and fx loop from the floor. That would mean almost total control.

What is the easiest way to run 2 amps at once?

I wound think that a multieffects unit with stereo outputs would do it if you switched everything off. I'm not sure how you'd go about switching between the two amps though.

    5 Favorite guitar tones:

what I always took away from those AT interviews is that you don't have to work very hard to get those tones put of a lonestar or a stiletto. Considering the rarity, expense, and fragility of those amps (not to mention the size and volume), that's not really a bad deal. And here are my...

    Slave Out ?

What kind of cable should you use for amp slavery (lol), speaker or normal instrument?

    Electra Dyne Roadster?

I'd say channel 1 should be lonestar cleans

A good amp for a Stratocaster under $800?

Heartbreaker, maverick, or early mark series (1-3). Maybe even a tremoverb. I think the f series, the express, and the later marks might be a little too modern for his purposes. The dc series could possibly work so long as the model is voiced similar to the early marks. I think the blue angel...

LSS: No Sound on 5w and 15w Setting

Yep, the one criticism i've seen about the ls series is that the rectifiers aren't user assignable. 30 watt is automatically solid state and 5/15 are automatically tube. The user can't make that determination. It's not a big deal to me though.

    Slave Out ?

So if my band has a pa, I can run slave out to one of the mixer channels so I can be heard through the house system via a hard line connection while still hearing myself through my amp's speaker almost like a monitor? If that's the case, how different is the sound from being miked? Is slave out...

    Lonestar Special vs. Express 5:50

These were the top 2 choices for me when I was looking. For what I play, both could have worked, but the LSS worked better. The express did have a nice broken up rhythm sound that I liked (which you can get on any Mesa 6l6 based amp). I use a pedal to get that sound on the lss and I'm just as...

    Sick Mark IV

Perhaps it's an output transformer issue? Also, is this a a combo or a head? Gave you tried different speakers?

    Post your pedalboard

I need to build a board. I only use wah, fuzz, od, micro pog, and delay (and maybe comp) along with the amp switcher. I could just use my gt8 for everything, but it doesn't switch the solo boost on and my vox wah is awesome. I'd actually like to pick up a delay pedal and use the gt for home...

Why can't I turn of the Chorus?

I can't go without a splash of reverb. I don't use much. I just need the "air" kwim?
